The Heart Chakra (Heart-Space)

Do you want more love in your life this spring? Do you want a greater sense of your life purpose? Do you want to experience more heart energy throughout your day?

By opening, cleansing, and strengthening the heart chakra (heart-space) you will develop a greater quality of life, a greater sense of freedom, unconditional love, forgiveness, empathy for others, self-love, self-acceptance, a sense of service to the world/life purpose, passion, and compassion.

The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga and meditation this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. These swirling wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being.

Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow. Think of a pipe that can tighten and expand, if there is a blockage and tightness in the pipe water can not flow through. If the pipe is wider and clearer more water can flow.

The fourth chakra, also referred to as the heart chakra, is located at the center of the chest and includes the heart, cardiac plexus (the cardiac plexus is a plexus of nerves situated at the base of the heart that stimulates the heart to beat), thymus gland, lungs, and breasts. It also rules the lymphatic system. The Sanskrit word for the fourth chakra is Anahata, which means “unstruck” or “unhurt.” The name implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists.

Therefore, when you open, clear, and strengthen the heart chakra (heart-space) you gain access to unconditional love, your life purpose, and spiritual freedom.
